Hey all, I've been looking for a decent shop to install my Cobra 75 WX in my SUV. Just really need it for emergencies and to check the weather broadcasts but I am clueless when it comes to tuning.

I had a guy charge me $90 to "install" it but all he did was wire it up and install a window mount antenna which fell off 2 days later.

I would like to get a decent range (a couple of miles) and I know my radio isn't the best but the all-in-one is more convenient for my needs.

I do have a satellite radio installed so I know the coax will have to run away from it, I am thinking right down the middle since I plan on running 12V to the back for my camping fridge.

Can anyone here suggest a reputable shop down this stretch of I-10 that won't jerk me around? I checked the whitelist already but there was no shops mentioned within 100 some-odd miles from here.

    Thanks in advance

Save your time and money and do it yourself. If radio is already installed just get yourself a decent watt meter from a truck stop about 20 bucks. I would suggest a Wilson 1000 mag mount or the LIl Wil will be sufficient for antenna. Just follow directions that come with meter and antenna and take your time. Or maybe find a friend that knows how to do it and you won't have to pay. Good luck

Thanks. I have to install a decent antenna. Thinking of going with a Firestik and mounting it from my hatch using a door jam mount.
