Of course I'll tune the antenna. If the stock one on the back of the sleeper isn't tunable then I'll replace it with my Firestik II or one of my Wilson 5000s.

If nothing else I might just put my MobileMax on the Cobra 29 the company is supplying but that will just add echo to a radio with factory TX and RX settings.

Unless your pulling flatbed, the ant on back of the cab can be a big issue with reflect....Think of it as a you putting a rock (your tx/rx) in a steel bucket(cab and trl)and shacking it like crazy....As long as the parameters of the antenna are correct(not just a low swr)even with a c 29 you will do pretty good range wise..Just cause you pump out more power with a bigger radio doesnt mean your gonna reach any further..
Be wise with your $ my friend..

My new truck is gonna be a flattop pulling a gas bottle. I can put a longer shaft under the Wilson if I need to. Unfortunately, with it being a company truck I'm stuck using the factory coax.

Be creative and look for a better solution..Use mirror mounts and look for ways to route coax without cutting or drilling..
