I had this in mind, so I called her the night before I paid my tuition to confirm. Less than a week later they did a full 180.

    OldeSkool and FullMetalJacket Thank this.

You are missing my point. Recruiters are uninformed & have 50 reasons to say whatever it takes to get applicants to show up. As far as a recruiter is concerned, better for 20 applicants to quit their current jobs & move across country In case they get hired than for the trucking company have 20 less applicants for the 2 open jobs.

Plenty of recruiters aren't even employees of the trucking company. Many are contractors that direct applicants to numerous companies. Often the only info they have about a trucking company is the average pay & average miles across the whole company. There is nobody less equipped or more unreliable providing usable info about an employer than a recruiter.

It is also possible that the recruiter told you accurate info but the company insurance rep changed who the trucking company can hire & that caused the problem. If you aren't talking to a currently working driver on the customer account into which you will work you have no idea what you are walking into. Any company that wants you will put you in contact with those drivers if you know to ask for it.
