Got this absolute gem and about 30 others like it in the past couple months from the recruiting department. Funniest part is that if they truly paid attention to my file, they'd know I'm not eligible for review until September LMAO
Not in a million years. Way I see it, either I finish my current contract and find an infinitely better company to drive for, or I go 20 years in the service, retire and STILL find an infinitely better company to drive for. I just figured some of the folks here would get as much of a laugh out of the situation as I did, so I decided to share
I bet the US Coast Guard is pretty good. Those guys were tough in Vietnam. The NVA and VC knew if they messed with the US Coast Guard, they were up for a vicious fight; those "Coasties" didn't avoid a fight at all. I also saw one of their cutters off the coast of Africa one time. .
Swift wants some experienced drivers dont they? They dont want to have to send anyone out with a trainer. It's all about ##### to seats anyway
Thats a good #### plan. How old are you 25 or less? Figure by time your 45. Retirement check and free health care (any dr or hospital in 5he world) for you and your spouse. While still young enough to start a new career, and retire all over again. My uncle did 20 in the air force, then did 30 years as a teamster. Between check from military, check from teamsters, and social security. He is sitting at home collecting somewhere in the area of 8k a month.
That’s no joke. I know a Guy, retired w/ 20 yrs. Worked 25 yrs. retired again. Gets both pensions, plus SS. And he went back to the place he retired from. 70 yrs old, 4 streams of income.
Just a warning... there is no more retirement check for doing 20 in the military anymore. There is only 5% fund matching into the thrift savings plan (military ira). From the grafts if he were to max out his contributions every year for 30 years and make rate first time every time. When he was 67 and allowed to touch the funds he’d have a little over $200000 more than the guy that got the pension check. Just food for thought. It’s a really crappy life if you are joining just for the money.
False. The current system does include a monthly pension that is calculated based on the formula 2% * (years in service) * (highest 36 months of base pay). I had to waste a perfectly good Saturday sitting through an 8 hour briefing on this ####, so I'm #### well gonna correct inaccuracies when I see them. Have some documentation to prove that I'm not pulling this out my ###.
