Bumper to bumper traffic heading north probably be the same tomorrow morning.Nothing like waiting till the last minute to escape from IRMA.

 

Gov Briefed that three tankers delivered to west port, tampa and Jax port approx 5 million gallons and about 6.5 more millions of gallons of refined fuels (Desiel, Gasoline, jet fuel etc) as of 6PM last night Eastern. Police escorts are running the tanker trucks as hard and fast as they can particularly to north central area of the hurricane warned evac areas.

After Midnight tonight anyone not yet evacuating will not be able to do so tonight out of the mandatory counties and so on. Storm surges have increased in forecasting as far as Tampa and Jax all the way to even Charlestown SC. Not to mention the 40 plus feet wave action inside the now 140 or so mile wide zone of inner hurricane wind fields.

Miami and other airports expect to fly out as many as possible until tropical storm winds of about 40 or somewhat lower depending on average aircraft design tolerances for crosswind etc doing battle to get out at the last minute before closing down. The airports will make very poor shelters being filled with glass and wide open spaces that will become wind tunnels.

The interperters are doing a good job translating english into ASL for the deaf and It's been a good exercise for me to break some of the rust off with that language which is not too difficult, even allowing for specific regional "Accents" or equivilants.

They finally are giving out a phone number for anyone who wants out regardless of being too poor to have a car etc. The state has ten thousand buses or more working the problem of the poor who cannot go anywhere.

Finally but not last, the senate and house passed a bill to continue spending with the important removal possibly pernament of the Federal Debt Limit. Trump has either signed it or will sign it soon, it will be good until dec 8 and includes moneies in the billions for this storm and the next two that has formed well in the Atlantic.

 

Cops can't force ppl to leave but they are going from door to door in the mandatory evacuation zones demanding to get out now.Noons will will answer 911 after I think Sunday tiill storm is over.Folks that choose to ignore the many warnings all week will be playing Russian roulette with their lives at least seek one of the many shelters for your kids and pets safety if nothing else.

Looks like it's (skateboard) grinding over Cuba. Last I saw this morning it was very low in intensity and almost right over the north/south ridge.

Models say it's gonna hook but man I'm wondering if when it hits the water south of Cuba if it doesn't regroup and start heading west again.

 

Local officials are giving it one last sweep telling the residents to evacuate now.Of course they're not taking it seriously walking around bike riding and some on the beach.
