Not always. There is one particular intersection I cross 5-10 times a week. When the light turns red it flashes even when the intersection is cleared. Probably a malfunction as this intersection is the only time I’ve seen it flash when clear.

We have those out the wazzoo in Phoenix area. You need to be prepared to stop at any given time. I approach those intersections typically 5 to 10 under.
They did away with a bunch of them though cause they caused so many collisions lol.
But yea your busted.
I always look at the walk / don't walk indicator above the crosswalks. Many have a countdown timer. When you see one that's white, your alright / one that's red you need to be prepared to stop.sevenmph Thanks this. -
Red light cameras piss me off. A lot of times I'll stop on green, wait for it to go red and the green again. Or I'll go turtle-### slow coming up to it and wait for it to turn red.
Isn't American Traffic Solutions headquartered in Phoenix? Why hasn't anyone burned their building down yet?Ranger309, Studebaker Hawk and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -

Yes it is. Sorry.

Ya I found that out. And it’s $500 and a point on your record.
If this becomes a ticket I can fight it using a company that writes a 1-page defense for you you, which is an option. They have a pretty good track record. $99 and you don’t need to be there.
I’ve researched how these red light cameras work and they use and underground sensor to tell the camera you entered too late. I’m wondering if perhaps my trailer set off that sensor. It really appeared to me I was completely into the intersection while yellow.Ranger309 Thanks this. -
This is where having a dashcam of some sort comes in real handy.Ranger309 and Studebaker Hawk Thank this.

HotH20 camera was at Folsom and Powerline road. Speed limit is 40mph, but I was well under that, needing to turn at the next intersection. Apparantly this yellow light is 3.9 secs long and drivers have succeeded in defending themselves by claiming that’s not enough. When I saw yellow i didn’t brake or accelerate. it would have been insane to jam the brakes. I did what was safe and prudent. But the camera flashed 3 times. I’m hoping it shows me already entered the intersection.

There is a coil under the pavement at a special spot. Once your rig crosses that coil in the correct moment the computer will take your picture as a violation.
I totally understand your position regarding flatbedding and not risking the load by jamming. But I will wonder about those lights possibly being fast?
I don't have enforcement cameras where I am yet but we do have real time cameras overlooking many intersections for the purpose of traffic and other controls.
Your company will likely get the violation in the mail. They will hunt for your truck at that date and time via QC and other sources if the Unit Number is not clearly defined. Shrugs.
I personally don't care for them. DC is a real rats nest filled with them. I simply bypass the entire city on US 15 where there is none.Ranger309 Thanks this.
