Quebec was one place I wanted to visit someday for History Purposes. However it did not work out that way.

We have a ban also but leo's are implementing a pilot program that has a camera w live video feed from the intersection to a troopers laptop as he sits downstream from the camera.
He gets a ping and can watch the video live or after the fact and pull over the offender.
Cops have the alleged red light runner review the footage and if cop deems appropriate gives a warning or writes a ticket.
Going to take place on Cty 15 between I-94 and US10 in St Cloud,MN -

I have determined that the internet has created perfect drivers, even maybe some that has never driven a truck in real life. lol

A few thoughts as I read through these comments. First, a dash cam is not going to be much help if the crash or situation is behind the driver and all the cam is recording is ahead. General law enforcement is like most of us already know, depends on the cop. Some cops are going to be hardnosed and some will be a bit more lenient. I do like how the Smith System teaches about approaching intersections with lights. Over time a driver will learn to pay attention to the timing. You are 200' + away from a stale green light most likely that sucker is going to change before you get there, start slowing down THEN. Approach a red light the same way, stay slow until it turns green and watch for the cross traffic! There is a reason some truckers can go almost an entire career and not have these issues. One more thing, being on these surface streets is NOT the time to be doing paperwork or handling business. Stay OFF the phone and watch out.

I thought most all fleets used this.
You may lose a minute or two but arrive more refreshed/less tense.
Don't know if I attribute my safe record (near 45 years) to luck or skill but that defensive driving system works.
I also take a MSF experienced rider course on the bikes and last year took a 8 hr. defensive driving course for a insurance break for ...ahem..mature drivers.
Take the course and practice it, the return on your time and your career can be huge.FlaSwampRat Thanks this.
