Hi , I’ve been driving for 15years , no tickets or accidents
Last week was traveling south on US30 Indiana, and unfortunately I run a red light , local police pulled me over , was very angry without me saying nothing , figured out that it’s better not to argue with him , gave me a red light moving violation, was looking for an attorney with no luck , the only one who will accept to defend asked for 1500 flat fee , told me that the satate of Indiana don’t discuss or amend moving violations for cdl holder any more and all he can do is keep postponing the court date in the hope that the cop won’t show up and go to trial if this won’t work
Any advice appreciated or indiana Kosciusko county cdl attorney ref

Go to court. Take the chance on officer not showing.....

US 30 runs east/west, and does not go through Chicago.
And if you were going southeast on US30 and in Indiana, you would already be past Chicago.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

US30 runs through the greater Chicago area... Often refered to as Chicagoland. I considered everything from Joliet to Gary to Waukegan to be Chicago... Maybe its a country boy thing, but if there is no disernable separation in towns the entire area is considered to be part of the largest town within that area.Magoo1968, TripleSix, Rubber duck kw and 11 others Thank this. -
You dont need a lawyer for that. Like someone said show up and see if the officer even shows up. If he does or doesnt they are going to ask you if you ran the light. Maybe either way you can convince the judge not to have it put on your driving record and just pay the fee.. it's a roll of the dice, just depends how sympathetic the judge is.

As @Cattleman84 stated its the Chicagoland area .. it's all 1 big cesspool
Your spliting hairs that don't need to be split
BTW the route he was taking about has a F###ton of stoplights.. pretty easy for that to happen to someone -
Pretty much a catch-22 situation.
Pay a lawyer 1500 to try to postpone the court date hoping the officer does not show up, or try to arrange to get to the court date as an OTR driver hoping the officer won't show or the judge will be sympathetic, or to just take your lumps and pay the fine and take the points.Albertaflatbed and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
