I think orange drivers go mainly north and east. We have them up here in norcal alot. Word around is that we are getting another 200 new volvos and 80 new freightliners. The reason they're all down here is because of the carb smog laws going into effect. All the trucks in CA must have a soot collecter or afterburner as we call them. i wish i still had my fld freightliner still those trucks were reliable and flew up the hills, in fact all the guys here want them back. But i don't complain my new white volvo is a nice ride and plenty of power.

I'm no expert and usually keep to myself but I'd say Fontana has the most freight and is the busiest. Seems to be the main terminal down here. I would almost go as far to say that Fontana is the break bulk and the others are satellite terminals. I know that's not how they do it but it just seems that Fontana is the big dog. Honestly, I agree with Reddaway driver. I'd try for Orange or Fontana.

Fontana, Orange and possibly Downey are talking union. Been seeing the teamsters hanging out in the parking lots. What do you guys think? I hope if we get the union in the YRC guys don't bump us cause they don't have work.

I cant believe fontana just went union. Wow our biggest yard. Cool35 hopefully that wont happen since were are separate companies. I heard they are trying to get sac, sjc, and fno. I dont know if this is a good or a bad thing.

Yeah I've been hearing union here too. I don't know what to make of it. I just know the YRC yard here is slow and the drivers are unhappy. That's my worry. If their gonna do this do it soon so by the time April comes around and and jobs start hiring I'll have a good option if I don't like what I'm seeing. Sucks cause i know I'll have a bid or be on the top of the extra board. Not the case if I get bumped down.

Well I'll be out cause I'm only one guy up off the bottom. Fontana voted the union in? I didn't even know! I heard Orange and Fontana were really considering it though. Fontana seems like the nicest yard down here to me. I never had a problem there. Even Compton is nice. Sure beats Downey where you can barely move in there. Don't know if I should mention names on here but the night guy in Compton is cool and so is the day guy in Fontana. Oh well guess we have to wait and see. Why are they even voting them in? It's not like it's the master freight agreement anymore. Some stupid paper contract now. I'm pretty sure there is no company funded pension. Also, I see the Compton guys hooking and breaking their sets, so it's not like Yellow/Roadway where they do it for you.

I heard fontana management was really messing with people there making their own rules up. Drivers got fed up and losing the week of vacation for the senior drivers was the last straw. Losing that week has alot of drivers grumbling. Instead of 4 weeks they only get 3 now. Alot of pisses drivers about that.

I heard that extra week of vacation was the main reason too. I wonder if the union will get it back for them? I also heard bad things were going on in Fontana but never saw it. I heard the same about Orange. Guess we will have to wait and see what happens. Another thing I have heard was YRC was raping us worse with pay, 401k and the vacation thing. I wonder what the union Reddaway drivers are making? I have never asked. I know a couple of Compton drivers, think I'll ask. Ah what does it really matter anyway.

One more this is there has been a rumor if Downey goes union, they are going to close LAX and LOS and combine them into one at the bigger YRC yard in Santa Fe Springs.
