There's already lots of one year old trucks on the market in the 100K mile range.

It's due to "middle men" & co-op's. Big farms contract with a co-op to market "their" produce, this aspect of the business they choose to do, as it's easier (less hassle) for them to do this and they can concentrate on just growing. The co-op arranges the transportation, warehousing & selling to various wholesalers. The problem is not that the people have stopped eating, it's the middle men have shut down, leaving the farmer holding the unsold produce.

It's the same with the big mega dairy farms, they don't direct market their milk, with most solely depending on the middle man or co-op and processing plants to survive, big mistake right about now.

Another problem is many, for different reasons, cannot rapidly adapt to any changes that may effectively help their situation.

You see, this is what happens when you put all your eggs in one basket, along with solely depending on someone else to do what's necessary for your business to succeed.

I can almost guarantee you that even though we are doubling our farm produce production this Spring, because we direct market it (start to finish), we'll have no problem selling most, if not all of it...

The whole world is interconnected. That's not going to change. Just different arrangements, contingencies. If anything, it's going to become even more so, interconnected, over time.

Management always pats itself on the back.

Well what kind of management allows itself to be so vulnerable, that it doesn't have the cash reserves to last a few months through a crisis??

A new phenomenon may arise for the masses when this is over.......I'm going to call it.....a savings account.

A piss poor one. Many will say, "Well, this has never happened before." Others will say, "That wasn't my department." Investors will ask the CEO, "How could this happen?" Bottom line, they'll all attempt to deflect blame, but the end result is still the same isn't it. A bigger question will be, assuming they don't go bankrupt, how many do you think will learn something from it?
