If it otherwise runs fine you may have a plugged filter. It is easy to clean. Over time, algae builds up on the screen. It looks like a small thimble and is not a replace item just clean it every service. Putting it in a plastic water bottle with about 30% filled with water and shake it hard works well for me. Dry it off before reinstalling.
@STexan re: new carrier hard starts
I picked mine up march 2017 and had that issue. It would try to start and fail and 2nd time it would go. Symptoms were lost prime. If running in continuous it would also sometimes shut off when it would drop the rpm in order to engage or disengage one of the clutches. Shut off in the manner like it was starved of fuel. It turned out to be the injector pump. Replaced under warranty. I guess injector pumps are very expensive if you must pay out of pocket.
Reefer doesn't work?

Stories like this make me glad I have a new reefer, although I know that's no guarantee it will run trouble free. When I first tried to start it, I opened the tank and realized there had never been fuel in it. Who doesn't test a reefer before they sell it? Anyway, filled it up and it just about drained the battery getting the fuel up to the engine, but it finally did and is purring like a very loud kitten.

2. YOU are not a mechanic! YOU are a driver. Call your company ASAP and get that unit into a shop ASAP. I beg you do not leave this trailer for another driver to have to deal with.
3. NEVER let a reefer fuel tank get much below a half tank. I have pulled Reefer before and every company allowed reefer fuel PRN. (pro re nata) Latin for as the need arises!
4. As to that tank fuel quantity gauge, DO NOT go by that thing until you have visually confirmed it. I have pulled more then one reefer that had a tank gauge stuck or bent.
Pull these units long and these things will become second nature to you. -
Well it did the no starting thing for a few hours, even after fueling. Called the company, they began to set up where they wanted me to take it and it finally "turned over(?)". Company told me to run with it, I'll red tag the tandems, it will be empty when next driver picks it up. It's not to keep anything cold, it's set at 60 to prevent freezing. But I am going to Wyoming so I guess we shall see.

Even the one I picked up, tandem slid great. Reefer is an issue. Won't even shut off.
