And the original poster went to SNI I believe. As far as reefer wasn't to excited about hauling it recently. But when I did it didn't bother me. It was colder inside than outside with a 2 1/2 hr unload. Place wasn't too tight but not spread out like van places. And believe me van drivers like myself hit some really tight docks and unload or loading wait times. The reefer trls were top notch, rode great but different than light van trls. I'd do it again if called without hesitation I liked it. Just not in the area for reefer and don't really want or have the desire to do it full time. Flatbed would be cool thinking about other divisions seems like a pain in the buttocks but probably cool to do sometime. Ill leave it for our tarp stretchers and freezer closers they do a good job. Ill be a good van driver for now. Try to be at least.

This is an old thread, but there aren't many reefer related threads so I thought I'd throw this in. One difference between reefer and van is the way the trailers are cleaned out. With a van, you just have to sweep them out (and pick up all the junk some of the places leave in there for you). With reefers you are usually hauling food products, and for that reason you have to actually wash the trailer out with water using a hose. It's not that horrible of a job, but I like to just get in there and sweep rather than having to look around for a place to hose down the reefer trailer.

I think you get some longer runs, usually I get a run of approx. 1,000 miles in the first week. Than a couple runs of 450 or so...U do get alot of live load/unloads. They can go very quick or you can sit for several hours. I like the early morning deliveries, u just have to plan on running hard to be close or on site for the AM. Than you can start your clock a little later also!

The only time you have to wash out is if there is Blood or other leftover residues...a good sweep will take care of the floor usually. You do have to add fuel to the tank under the trailer and last summer when it was so hot there was some issues with the units being able to keep up. The trailer are almost all supper single trailers and newer...that is a plus. One other thing to consider is people will always need food no matter what. So I think they are probably a little more steady for miles...
