i like that all my runs are over 2000 miles with a reefer
grocery warehouses are a pain but i see them seldom
if it wasn't for starter companies no one would put up with the nonsense involved at 2 am

Dead right. I may make a few cents less but I sleep at night and drop...er...deliver during the day 99% of the time. Nothing better than a phone call at 3am while your parked on the Jersey turnpike telling you your reefer crapped out and you gotta boogie to TK ASAP.

If some of you guys want bankers hours, you need to become a banker or a flatbed driver

This is true. I suppose the new guy could go over to Transam Trucking as a new guy, sign his life away into a lease, and make hundreds and hundreds of dollars over the first 6 months, all within the first 12 months of working there!!!!

But the dry van outfits hiring new drivers suck too as a general rule and can't guarantee any good money. His best bet would probably be flatbed or tanker as a first trucking gig to get experience.

I could never pull a reefer not for any money! I might be a light sleeper but I don't know how anyone can sleep with a reefer unit right next to their head.

Thermo-King is your friend, when we get stuck with a Carrier, we just don't sleep, and run 24/7 until we swap for a TK

You set it to continuous and it becomes like a harmonious constant hum and vibration descending straight out of heaven.

    Jarhed1964 and gntorres61 Thank this.

    Is that allowed?
I know I could never sleep if it was cycling on and off all night.

You actually ( most anyway ) get use to it and when you stop pulling a reefer the lack of noise will wake you up at times as your thinking something has gone wrong with unit

Jarhed1964 and Cranky Yankee Thank this.
