When I have a temp controlled load, I prefer continuous mode. Best sleep ever. If it's on cycle, sometimes the cutting on and off of the reefer will wake you. If I have a dry load, I actually try to park next to reefers.

Parking next to the Volvo is safe, the Volvo parking next to you is when it gets sketchy.

Screenshot_20210306-112115_Chrome.jpg obviously these won't help with vibrations but do wonders for noise. I sleep soundly during the day with 4 kids and a dog

I can't sleep with earplugs, as I put my earbuds in to go for a walk.

While you have a point, I am concerned that I may get a strong urge to purchase an Adidas track suit and flip flops....

That's rough. How's your flexibility, cause not all of us can fit out sandals up on the dash while we wear the.

When I was OTR I’d try to park near a reefer whenever I could. The sound of the reefer motor running helped me sleep

I'm guilty!!! I drive a reefer!!! However, I do try to park by other reefers, or away from others, etc. However, it isn't always feasible. Personally, I never had problems with reefer noise disturbing me. I did have a guy park next to me with an APU that was loud. IDK, it was something about the way we were parked that seems to cause some harmonic resonance that ended up being really loud inside my cab. At first I thought there was a train somewhere around us. But, after 15 minutes when the sound didn't ebb, I got out to look at what the heck was going on. Outside my truck, the offending APU wasn't any louder that usual. So, it was weird. I almost moved because of it. But, he turned off the APU after a bit and my normal noise level returned.
IDK, it really surprised me but since the very start I've never had problems sleeping in a truck. Thought it would be something you have to get adapted to. But, nope, first night out with a mentor, I slept like a rock and pretty much always do. Even when the wind is knocking my truck around, I sleep well in a truck. Only time I've ever had difficulties is when I'm parked somewhere I'm not comfortable with, such as on and on or off ramp. Fortunately, I very very seldom have to park at such a place. Whether I should or not, I do feel safe at rest areas and truck stops, so I sleep well. If I'm somewhere with no other trucks around me, I just don't feel safe. It's all subjective, but it's the only thing that has even given me difficulties sleeping in a truck.
BTW, I'll take being parked next to a noisy reefer anyday over being parked next to an old longnose with a cantankerous loud idling engine.
