Refresh my memory on the gears

    Probably because your not supposed to mine has a sticker with a warning to tge affect of no double clutching or floating it will mess the synchronizer up.
    Also suggests skipping gears especially the lower end and when light lol.

    Doh!. I don't recall seeing that sticker. I never bothered with double clutching and gave up on trying to float so no harm done, by me anyway. The other slip seat drivers, well...

    :D oh come on now all drivers have common sense dont they?
    Thats ok I did not see it at first either and did float a few but it was about like floating an old Chevy pickup got to get it just right. less than 20miles I was annoyed so pulled over and started looking around trying to find shift pattern thinking i was going for wrong gears. Been in some trucks with weird patterns on that I was really lost on first two days I drove it had.

    Skipping gears is not something I would care to do with an 8-speed.

    The loads were always so light (and S. Florida so flat!) that I don't think I ever went through all the gears in the 4 years I drove that truck. Nothing to do with gears, but I just remembered it had a floor mounted engine retarder button that you had to step on to activate it.
