Will this incident hinder my employment with future companies even after I complete a training course and 1 year of otr (like c r england). Also swift won't take me back. I'm clean and passed my first drug test (didn't smoke for 2 months before that test)G13Tomcat Thanks this.

But he said he was going to quit!
-
You knowingly messed up.. deal with the aftermath..
Mcdonalds only drug tests once I think
Tb0n3 Thanks this. -
Do something else. Has swift sent you a bill yet? You need to start working immediately and it aint going to be in trucking.
Catbomb2 Thanks this. -
That's NOT Swift, that's the Feds. Federal regulations. Swift is completely out of the picture. If he wants to drive a CMV in North America, he will have to complete a SAP program. Even to go to a second chance company like Carolina Cargo. He bombed. He should have taken the test...the odds are better. Refusing a drug test is an automatic worse case scenario.G13Tomcat Thanks this.

YES, it will hinder you. Specifically every time you fill out an application and it says "have you ever failed or refused a DOTdrug test". Once you click YES, you're application is toast

Refusal to take a drug test is the same as failing a drug test. It is reported to DAC. I don't know enough about the SAP program to advise you on how quickly that might make you employable. The bottom line is that for the foreseeable future you won't be hired by any company that uses DAC. That means pretty much ALL the major carriers and quite a number of smaller ones.
Are you serious about being a truck driver? Then...
1. Don't take drugs or smoke weed EVER again. This means you should drop your "friends" that smoke. Sound harsh? Yes it is. But if you smoke weed to bond with friends AND they are going to continue to smoke, then you need a new set of friends that don't smoke. That's a bottom line right there. If you can't bring yourself to do this, then find another profession.
2. If you really quit forever and want to dedicate yourself to becoming a truck driver, then pay for your own school and get your CDL. Company schools are no longer an option for you.
3. Apply to small trucking companies. They are far less likely to use DAC.TaterWagon#62, REO6205, Tb0n3 and 3 others Thank this.
