That's a no go at the place in question. They refuse to put blocking between the bundles, and won't let the driver out of the truck during loading to do it themselves. If it were that simple, we wouldn't have had such a discussion over it. I've even had the safety director of the company I worked for then, generally a pretty persuasive fellow, get involved to no avail. That mill simply won't budge on their loading procedures. That's why "refuse the load" was the most common advice.

But you was right to refuse the load for the reason and I don't disagree with you one bit. And if the company said one word to me I would let him or her talk with the epron I talked with at the mill and if the boss still disagreed with me I would ask him to either send someone else or give my walking papers cause it would be an unsafe load, even with a barrier of wood in front of it!!!!

I ran a crane and have rigging experience if the pick is to close than you pick it and move it away from the other pile or if there is merely an inch clearance you slowly lift it straight up with a couple of guide lines on it

This operator knew what he was doing. It's not that hard to figure out. 20161118_151835.jpg

There's the old reverse psychology technique which works quite well rather than abuse the crap out of someone like that which i'm sure we'd all like to do simply count to 10 then say "look if your willing to sign a waiver admitting you'll accept responsibility for any damages goods i'm quite happy to use less load restraints" you'll find they'd be only to happy to let you have what ever you want.

The waiver even if signed would only be useful as toilet paper my first night in jail. This however would be quite useful almost daily.

EMJ Schaumburg IL looks like to me,but most steel mills look the same inside . Lol

Those loads were always ####ed. Build a double wall bulk head though and you'll be ok.
