I'm looking at a PTL truck. They got hit last night. Husband and wife team. 95 degrees outside and they're waiting for someone at PTL to make a decision. Wait, there's a hotel (a nice one) across the street, but PTL is sending them down the road a ways because they don't have an account with this hotel. And some tech at TA says he can fix this truck enough to get them to their home terminal. Rad brackets destroyed. Fan clutch gone...all kinds of damage and a TA flunkie says he can fix it. PTL is waiting for an estimate from TA to save money. Straight up foolish. So the team has to wait until tomorrow morning for someone in the company who can make decisions to make a decision.
I have to side with Ridgeline on this one.
Refusing to bring home, answers?

"We don't have problems. We only have opportunities to excel."
- Gunnery Sergeant Ron Penn U.S.M.C.bryan21384 and 06driver Thank this. -
Never abandon equipment. Suck it up and work it out. If there is anyone higher up than the dispatcher, contact them and calmly relay the situation to them. Work out a COMPROMISE, don't demand. If he "has to be home" on the 13th, arrange to park the truck in a secure place, fly him home, then fly him back when he's done fulfilling his obligations.
Otherwise, he has no options besides doing his job and being a man. You can't fight his battles for him, and if he doesn't want to go over her, then he's screwed. No matter how unreasonable someone is being, you can't have your husband ruin his career prospects for the next decade because he wants to be home less than a week from now. If you can, make alternative arrangements or reschedule.Oldironfan Thanks this. -

The pain of working for the mega. They have to make decisions from the terminal and they are no where near the incident. Gotta stay with whom they have an account with....that's a pain. Too limited in situations

Ughhhhh that driver better stay in the states. HahaDave_in_AZ Thanks this.

They'll call that driver with a load to Phoenix on Monday, but he will have to deadhead to Maine. Companies will do something weird like that when you want to get home

Well, the OP hasn't posted since Friday afternoon. Wonder if she is in the car headed east to go pick hubby up somewhere in Mass?
