That tire repair man was just trying to sell some tires that is why he told you the tires would blow out?

Go to the truck stop and find some gray haired, old, owner operator. Ask him what he thinks about the tires.

    TruckDuo and Tmichael2332 Thank this.

Weird, every tech that's done my DOT inspection measured from the indicators.

Those tread depths were what TA measured and wrote on the tires. Prime wanted pics. According to the guy I spoke with they're not approving any tires unless it's at a terminal.

    I looked it up:

    (b) Any tire on the front wheels of a bus, truck, or truck tractor shall have a tread groove pattern depth of at least4/32of an inch when measured at any point on a major tread groove. The measurements shall not be made where tie bars, humps, or fillets are located.

    (c) Except as provided in paragraph (b) of this section, tires shall have a tread groove pattern depth of at least 2/32of an inch when measured in a major tread groove. The measurement shall not be made where tie bars, humps or fillets are located.

I don't know what they are talking about when they mention tie bars, humps or fillets.

This is why I got rid of the lease truck I was driving and bought my own. NO ONE is going to tell me where I'm getting my tires or any other thing for my truck.

KB3MMX, HalpinUout and Tmichael2332 Thank this.
