That's what he heard at the lunch counter!

######, you beat me to it.

You use that "truck stop" term very loosely, don't you?

The old Chicago Water Market, a cop blind-sided you into the dock, and if you started watching your mirrors instead of him, he'd send you to the back of the line.

You do know LA is more than the new warehouse district out Mira Loma/ Ontario way? Some of the older places closer in are a real PITA. And 405 and 5 (and 91, and 60...) look like 95 on a holiday weekend every dang day.

Back when I was doin' internet cars every week, had several guys in LA tell me if "you can't get here before dark, just come in the morning." And it wasn't 'cause they were worried about Silicone Suzy callin' the law.

The problem with NYC is the people there. I have never in my entire life seen people try to imitate action movie scenes speeding up driving down the alley hop on the curve and continue gassing on it while driving on the side walk with no regard to human life (there were people on the side walk). I saw 5 people do that in there cars the first time I ever went to NYC. And every time I went there I saw at least one person do that in Brooklyn.

Again point me out to where you all commonly did a 90' back off a busy highway to be able to get into a customer and had to do an immediate 90' blindside back to get to the dock in LA. LA is laid out better than NYC, Boston, etc. Most of the complaints about are due to congestion. Other than it's a cake walk.

What I posted is true. You're going to try and tell me you never once saw that in Brooklyn? Also no I've never seen 5 cars do that in less then 2 hours in any other city. Not Philly, not LA, not Chicago, not Boston, not Toronto, not Dallas, etc. I've only seen someone do that once in Philly and there weren't people on the sidewalk.

I just have to laugh a little bit at someone who doesn't want to run New York or Jersey . My question is why? Why so many people get intimidated by it ? You cant imagine some place most of us go with 53 ft trailers. Granted most places were never designed for 53's but it can be done , you will eventually get the hang of it , just have some confidence in yourself.

In all fairness you can ask people who say they don't want to drive in PA on here the same thing. Seriously what are all of you scared of? Hilly terrain?

Sorry, but if your not comfortable or qualified to run certain regions it is part of your job to speak up. I cant stand the NE, therefore - I dont run it. Doesnt mean I cant or wont, just means Id rather not. If your being forced to run lanes you want nothing to do with tell recruiting they need to start targeting those areas. According to these websites theres no shortage of "Urban Rambos" willing to pull it...

I got stuck in islandia LI in a walmart shopping center parking lot because the store I was delivering to was in the same plaza and the morons at walmart decide to close/lock to gate that connects the dock to the store next door! Yeah !

Another one of my nyc related ######## mishap was in YONKERS where the retail plaza is a city in itself, with layers and layers of parking lots and a maze where the unsuspecting driver is clueless about WHERE IN THE HELL IS MY STORE AND DOCK !!!!!! Not like I can just park the truck and ask someone because you got 20 cars behind you flashing their lights at you! Call your 23 year old college educated know it all dispatcher right!???
