The issue with the fuel pump is no warning. If you get to the point it throws a code you are already finished. The truck may carry on a few hundred more miles but the severe damage is happening very quickly. Generally the engine is now a boat anchor.

I think fuel economy is attained by keeping an eye on those stupid fuel actuators.
And do not buy remand ones as they do not check arm play. Far as I've studied.

Last time the truck was run through on Incite.. I recall the tech looking at fuel pressures and his words were, " they look good - you shouldn't have any issues." so not really worried about the fuel pump at this point. More concerned about the sensors malfunctioning just thinking about the wiring harness BS i had to deal with... anything is possible with this thing.. Virtually all other issue related to this have been covered. If DOC were an issue... I am thinking It would throw a code, or just not engage... Not act like it wants to and not do it. But your thoughts are valid ones.

I'm just telling you what I've read and watched lots of YouTube on that fuel pump. If you want to carry on that's all good. But I am rebuilding mime every 400,000 mi. It's not like it slowly dies. It's just good, then part of that plunger breaks off, and you're done.

It has been my experience that...forced Regens with a laptop on the side of road up to 1000° for 30 minutes...Just Dont Work (very long anyway). Couple hundred miles same problem. It has always boiled down to having to Replace rhe Doser valve.JMO

And "in your experience.." should they need replacement in 35k, or is it just as good to clean them and continue on? I just had a new Doser and Injector in May put in this engine.
