Hey Folks, new puke here from the San Jose area. Spent the past 25 years as a Commercial Fisherman (had a salmon boat) and a Painting Contractor. Making the jump into trucking, will be attending Area Trucking School for class A.
Been lurking here for awhile and figured time to wet the feet. Firm believer in learning from those who've gone before me...specially since I don't know jack about this industry. Getting some great info reading the boards, yet always find myself wondering how to tweak the info for specific areas.
I'm 59, would prefer to be home at night, and prefer to keep the lumping to a minimum. Working for an outfit that treats folks well is more important than the dollar amount, and pensions at my age are a non-issue.
Would appreciate any local or across-the-board general info. I understand there will be a learning curve and I'll be seeing guys half my age with twice as much.....and I'm fine with that. For now.
Thanks in advance.
