Yep you do live in michigan. and you need a temp plate from a dealer and insurance. Don't haul a trailer unless you got that too.

You can always do the transfer and plate first, but you will need insurance.

Oh and put it in your own name. It doesn't matter but it would be easier to sell later on.

I'm looking at a privately owned pre-elog. There is no dealership.

I will have insurance, I think non-trucking is fine for just purchasing and driving it home.

The easiest legal option would be to get a temp tag (3 day permit, or similar). You could ask a favor of your favorite broker if need be. Or, contact the company you will be leasing to. They will be paying the plates anyway. Otherwise, drive sanely and get home like whoop said.

Yeah I don't think the carrier I'm leasing onto is going to be paying for my plates. I need to pay for them in case I need to take the truck off and go to another company.
Besides, it just doesn't seem right that another company pays for my plates on my truck.

I'm with my local insurance agent who does insurance for my PV, he is getting quotes.

He did get back with me with a quote, based on $60,000 declared value, physical damage with $1k deductible, standard, and non-trucking liability, $4100 for the year.

Since I can't get a $60k vehicle since the finance company said no, I'm getting one that's half the cost, and looks like the physical damage part will go down about $1000 or so, so looking like $3,000 for all. I'll have to wait and see though what he finds out. Was going to go with OOIDA but not sure about that. They called me back and I ignored the phone call for some reason. I guess I was supposed to ignore it. Sometimes I get those feelings.

Sounds high. Physical damage normally 4-5% of the value. Non trucking liability. 40-50 per month.

    Keep shopping!

    Try OOIDA or 1stGuard

Got to mention something about elogs and insurance, I may be a negative nancy but like other insurance and the fed's involvement, I can see the feds screwing with the insurance companies to force them to force us to install elogs into a truck.
