Honestly? I think you should tell them you need a few days to review their offer and continue looking. If you truly cannot find a smaller carrier to pick you up within 7 days, I'd take CRE just to get your foot in the door. Drive for at least 6 months for them, then get some new apps out. My guess is that you'll find a lot more receptive recruiters. Based on everything I've read here, CRE is not where you would want to spend a career at, but a.) It's a job and b.) it will give you some valuable experience that other carriers will look at. It might be the most frustrating 6mos to 1 year you have ever had to endure, but should pay off in the end.

Have you tried Werner, Knight, or Con'way? If you have, you may have to suffer a year at England, I have read far worse ones. Also, looks like you did not go through one of those we train you, so you do not have to worry about a sell your soul contract for a year. As you stated, one called, if nothing else start there. I did a lot of reseach before I let my other half go off. It is what I do best. :)

I have only had 48 apps declined, lol.Werner already turned my app down but I will try the others,Thanks

Oh, never CRST, everything I have ever read about them including other forums say they use newbies as slaves. Not sure on those others however, but think you should do a quick check.

When I am filling out applications what should I put on my work history?I was putting that I was disabled from Feb.2007 until July2012.Would I have a better chance if I put that I have been off for health reasons that have been resolved?Anyone care to give me some input? Thanks

Yes, and a full explanation of your "fully recovered from health condition" is available upon request.
Never say you were literally disabled and if you can, avoid saying it was due to an auto accident.
You're just setting off red flags to recruiters that go through 100 apps a day.
Make them have to ask, at least that way you'll at least get the call.

I'm afraid that it's probable re the work history. I talked to a recruiter at Central Ref and that was the first thing he said. If that is the first thing they look at, then it stands to reason that they don't bother to take the time to look at anything else- on to the next one...I'm worried that I may have the same problem...

I think the only sensible solution is hitting the pavement and knocking down doors. And CRE would be the absolute last place I would go.

I have ruled out CRE,They are the only company that does not pay for orientation that I know of and its 10 days.I'm sure that somebody will give me a chance.Just got to keep trying.I am looking into other options as well. The only thing I can say is at least Central was good enough to give me a reason.I have asked every other company that denied my app if they would tell me why,so I could fix the problem. They all basically said they don't have to disclose that info.I guess our Government wants us be dependent on them and these trucking companies would rather pay more taxes to support us than to hire us!!lol Good Luck

Ironically, many of the megas are actually subsidized by the gov to train a/or hire rookies.
