Rejected because of past disability!!

There is little doubt that it is indeed the lack of work history that sets off the first red flag (along with the use of terms such as "auto accident" and "disabled").

I was employed in our family business for 35 years...through December 2010. The following year I attended two different private security training academies for short courses before enrolling full-time in community college August through this past May...and graduating with two Associate degrees, with honors. I ultimately decided not to pursue a career in secuity and enrolled & graduated from driving school (and received my CDL) last week. Just today I had a recruiter request my college transcript! Now why would they do that? This thread has answered that question for me ... they are focused on and concerned about gaps in employment.

 

I hope that works out well for you. I'd consider that too if it weren't for all of the people.

 

Try to get notarized affadavits from at least 3 individuals, doctor being one, stating the facts about your disability and lack of employment, plus your current status. I also recommend getting the American with Disability group involved.
