Anyone ever have the place "reject" the product and then offer to throw it away for you, meaning throw it on their shelves?

I had a walmart store reject a skid, once.
Receiver would not let me in (closed for inventory) told me to go away. I informed the guy (through the closed door that I was going to send it back to the shipper) he laughed and said good. SO back to the shipper it went. Don't know if that store ever got its shipment or not.

Had Walmart DC turn down a pallet of Rocky Road HagenDaz. Said it was soft, the other 20 pallets were fine, just gave it away 1/2 gallon at a time made a lot of happy people. Still got home with 5 or 6 gallons.

Went to the bakery that makes Sam's Club cakes and pies. Sam's refused 5 pallets because their fork lift driver broke one board on each pallet. Was 50 lb bags of pumpkin pie mix . Told it was a cosmetic issue. They could not display the product on the store floor in that shape? Since then I have check all over , am dying to buy 50 lb bags of pumpkin pie mix! Those pallets were never getting any where near a store! They are making pies...

pulling a reefer trailer as long a s I have, rejects are just a part of the job.
knock on doors at the truck stop and ask driver:do you like Orange juice?..hand him a gallon,do you like it ALOT?..hand him 2 more gallons

    on to the next truck...

Go into the truckstop and give waitress her tip in chewing gum..candy bars..hostess snacks

I give most of the rejects or overage goods away these days
Heck there is a limit to how many Twinkees any 1 man can eat!!

Grocery warehouses are notorious for that.

You'll usually see a couple of Chep pallets scattered with Discarded freight in some bushy field Down the road
