But like I said in my experience receivers rarely/almost never answer the phone. Never said I couldn't find the number.

I would've delivered about 5 loads following this advice. lol.

 

Then work harder at it or pay the consequences. If I sniff out that a broker doesn't want me communicating with their customer I drop em instantly, and I've got nothing better to do going down the road than to call people. Passes the time.

I can always tell when this is about to happen and my defenses go up fast. Once bitten, two million times shy.

You aren't understanding me. I've delivered to very few places where there was just one phone number. Google sleuth em and you can usually get in touch with someone. If it's a switchboard talk to the operator or another department. Docks rarely answer the phone. Every situation is different but what I'm telling you is that your likelihood of getting in Tilvey's situation is really high if you don't do everything in your power to stop it.
