In 2012 I lost my job moving household goods for my church due to a business decision that they made. I decided to get back into car hauling and I decided to give Reliable Carriers a call. Reliable Carriers are the big orange trucks with the giant sleepers equipped with a shower, table and sink. I applied with the intention of trying their enclosed trailer division. They carry show cars, prototypes and all kinds of big ticket items for the Major Car Manufacturers. In the open trailer division they haul test vehicles and sometimes vehicles with HO(High Output) motors.
They only had an opening in the open trailer division but promised me a position in the enclosed division when one opened up. In the mean time I hauled some interesting loads. I hauled 2 Fuso test trucks, one of which had about 10,000 pounds in the back. The other truck was lighter but taller and so I loaded it in the front because it wasn't as wide and was easier to drive up the ramp. The last truck I Had to load in the rear because it was so heavy and I couldn't get it past the first deck. Bottom line: These trucks should have been loaded on a low boy because they were wide and heavy. Had to stop by the shop before departure to have some welding done because they were so heavy. I hauled several similar loads on a car hauler.
I also kept having to sit at race tracks with these HO prototype vehicles for 2 days at a time at my own expense. During this time, I found out that they broke their promise and hired an experienced enclosed driver. I kept having to spend long periods of time in the shop getting repairs done that should have been made before I was assigned the vehicle. One driver told me not to hold my breadth and that Reliable would keep me in an open as long as possible because they had a hard time filling that position.
They had absolutely no sympathy for me being parked at my own expense or that they lied to me. After 4 months I parted way. They were a very big disappointment.

Where did you haul cars before working at Reliable?
-
Odd that you have a post from 2012 saying you worked for them then and had a bad experience, why go back if the first time around was so awful?

If you look at that post you will see that it is from Jan 2016 not 2012. I worked for them in 2012. I also never indicated that I went back to work for them. I do haul cars for a very good company now and it is the best job ever.
