Make sure you put it on in the right position, that 'L' shape slot in the plug goes over a pin in the ecm.

Oh no....ok lol. It can only go on 2 of 4 ways so 50/50 shot

Look at how the harness sits in the truck in relation to the ECM. Unless you moved the harness a lot it should naturally sit how it would if it were connected to the ECM.
If you post engine S/N someone with SIS access might be able to provide you with a harness pinout. There were Cat schematics stickied at the top of one of the subforums. You might find something useful there to help.Star Rider Thanks this. -

Those 2 pieces you pulled out of the old ecm today are different make sure you put them on the right plugs.

I've been trying to but the buttons clip on the bottom wires and top clip on the top wires. Been haveing a hard time lining all the wires up to put back into clips but not easy. I've been using tooth picks to to line up but not working well. They won't go all the way in they stop before bottoming out
