I remember the old truck stop at Seven Standard Road north of Baskerville on 99, I believe. It had the best biscuits & sausage gravy I ever had in a truck stop from the East Coast to the West Coast. It tasted just as good as my mother used to make when I was growing up at home.
I remember a convenience store with a small restaurant in Arizona that served a great steak. I dont remember the exact location. But I remember when loading in Nogales and making my way back to I-10 East, seems it was where I came up to I-10, and or a exit or two east of where I hit I-10. It was on the south side of I-10.
I recall a place in Arizona coming from Yuma to Tucson on the north side of I-8 there was a tavern that also served a great tasting steak at a very good price.
I recall the old Texaco Truck Stop south of Little Rock on I-30 back in the 70s served some great lunches. Back them if I happened by there around dinner time I would stop to have dinner.
This was in the late 60s to the 80s. One thing I learned from driving a truck cross county just because a place looked very good and was squeaky clean as can be did not mean they served great food at good prices. And there was many out of the way places that was not truck stops that served great food. Yet I suppose today its difficult to find parking places for many of those out of the way good places, and probably many of them are gone forever. -
RockingK219,
That's the one. I read somewhere recently that it was closed and torn down because of underground fuel tanks leaking. What a cost for T/A to clean it up. -

Well does anyone remember Cole's Truckstop on Hwy 5 in Alabama? That was a roaring place back in the 50.60.70 and 80s. It's gone now....
