Just as a contrast, if it's 30 below as it was in WI recently I'll be ###### if I will switch off the engine even if I have an APU. No, it's stays running and the powers that be can forget about their stupid rules regarding idling.

how do you think old drivers made it before they had a/c in the trucks? at least your truck will be cool during the day. there are plenty of trucking companies out there to chose from,keep it simple dont pick one that has a dumb idle policy. that is just showing you that they care more about money than drivers that drive for them, and you can bet those type of companies are the ones crying about driver fatigue and accidents because there drivers are not getting proper sleep. be careful about a new company pick a good one and stay with them. b safe out there

 

Yea , I am pretty much gonna say #### their 1 cent fuel bonus . If I am not comfortable I am gonna idle.
and the states that have a no idle law , there are stipulations on that .

If your truck has a clean idle air certifacation .
if the temps are really bad ( either hot or cold )

And you must be in the sleeper , if they catch you outside or in the front seat they can fine you.
I read it somewhere , can't remember where though.

Depending on the company tho . They may give you #### for idling to much .
