Yes it does, & when we get involved in conversations with others talking about topics such as "Remember When," they will say things that will bring lost memories back into out mind from yesterday years.

Yea I stopped at all of those. Everyone that you have mintionened and liked them all those were the real truck stops. You couldn't do your Xmas shop in them like you can now. These drivers now probly wouldn't like them much but I sure did. Usually the waitress new you by name if you stopped there more there twice in a year. They didn't ask if you wanted coffee either they came to the table with a cup and the pot.

I remember when I was the young gun. Eager for knowledge and wanted to make a name in the business. Now 19 years later soon to be 39 "Monday" I feel like one of the old farts which nothing wrong in that. Other than after all the hell I have caused I still have to keep a fast truck built to last, something to get me in to Heaven before the Devil knows I have past.

I recall the 106 mile marker on I-30 & the big round table back in the 70's. I to remember their banana pudding! I loved to be going by there at about 11:00 AM for usually at that time the pudding was just pulled out of the oven, it & a few cups of coffee, & the conversation at the round table was just great!

Speaking of I-30 in the old days, remember when the Winfield Truck Terminal was really booming? It was always full of freight haulers running between Little Rock and Dallas. You could leave there headed west at night and listen to Bill Mack all night long on WBAP - didn't need satellite radio. Kids are thinking, Huh? What's a WBAP?

Was driving by there the other day and it seems that someone is going back in there. No telling who or what. Hard for and independents to compete with the big boys anymore.

You figure the Loves and Pilots are the WalMArt of the trucking industry, they build them right down the road if not across the street from any MA N PA truck stop just to run them out of town and take over. Ive seen to many great truck stops go away over the last 10 years because of this. I miss those places it was a nice place away from home most of them at least. Good food, Good conversation and most of the time decent parking. Most of the Big Boy Companies like to use the chains so it was all small companies and O/O. You can still find them though off the beaten path and hangin on by a thread
