Very rough ride, and you needed gymnastics experience to get in and out of them without causing yourself injury.

Wow...a blast from the past. Haven't thought about them cabovers in a long time. Brings back some good memories. I still see them Roadway/Yellow trucks (not the cabovers) all the time. YRC hasn't given them up yet in the NE, but they are slowly updating their fleet. Seen a lot of new YRC trucks out on the road now. Still see a lot of Overnite's trucks on the road too. UPS Freight still uses them.
Too bad we haven't gotten rid of our cabovers. We still use them today. We may be the only ones that still uses daycab cabovers. Macks and Ford...

There's one in the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn.
I think the USPS is ordering those Macks custom because there's no other tractor that can service the main NYC postal terminal on 10th (11th?) Avenue. And the trailers have to be low so they can take the Lincoln Tunnel to the Newark facility. -
Picked this ceramic COE up at yard sale years ago in Roadway colours. Someone had a mold made.
