Remembering the old Raccoon Valley truck stop on I75 in Tenn.....

That place was a gem. The lot out back was about 6% and you parked across the grade. Saw a milk tanker on its side there in '80 or '81.

 

Ahhh, so you remember the old Green Valley truck stop, then? I've never been to Tennessee in my life, but my uncle drove truck through there all the time and told me all about it. Wonder if the owner's kids are still alive?

 

go past there once in a while and wish it was still there, get a weird feelin threw there allmost like ghost or the past just slams me in that area idk?mabe just wish for ol times , stop in there when on trips with dad , wish i could stop there now

 

My dad’s company hauled lumber out of Ky all over Tn, Nc, and Va. It was a regular stop for us. Great place to eat. We had 2 black 359’s and 2 black 4300 IH’s and a couple of cabovers too. John was the owners name, him and the girls were very friendly, and he worked harder than any one in there. I remember lots of the waitresses, just not their names. They all worked there a long time. I sure hate it’s gone now, but about all of the good ones are. Good memories for sure.
