That place was a gem. The lot out back was about 6% and you parked across the grade. Saw a milk tanker on its side there in '80 or '81.

My dad’s company hauled lumber out of Ky all over Tn, Nc, and Va. It was a regular stop for us. Great place to eat. We had 2 black 359’s and 2 black 4300 IH’s and a couple of cabovers too. John was the owners name, him and the girls were very friendly, and he worked harder than any one in there. I remember lots of the waitresses, just not their names. They all worked there a long time. I sure hate it’s gone now, but about all of the good ones are. Good memories for sure.
