Live View GPS...can be wired to shut down/disable a ride....ONSTAR (anyone remember them?) could shut down a ride as well as provide you with emergency services if it detected an impact event!!

Yes and if OnStar can do it ANYBODY can if they have the technology. They can start a vehicle remotely , they can trace it , follow every move it makes. OnStar is alive and thriving. It doesn't need to be wired. They know exactly how fast we go and where we are. That is not even counting the cameras that are used that we don't always know about. This is all through Satellites. Which as I am sure you know can follow anyone anywhere, and watch , undetected. If you are in trouble ? They can send the law! We are living in a big brother world, it is just a matter of , are we interesting enough to be watched . To have any of this from OnStar? just call to subscribe, they do NOT need to see or touch your vehicle.

Yes, remote shutdown can be done. You can actually do it yourself on your own car as an anti-theft measure if you know how to do it right. All you would need is a electromagnetic solenoid, an esp32-type microcontroller and a mobile hotspot (or an old cell phone) with a small data plan.

Fortunately I have no need for such technological weirdness since mine has the best anti-theft device of all, a manual transmission. :D

This is very true. I am looking to buy a used car soon and came across the exact model and year that I wanted, but it was a manual. It was also about $1500 cheaper than the automatic. But I don't know how to drive one so I passed. It's still available actually. I don't think anyone under 30 knows how to drive one these days.

Another driver told me they can govern your truck from the office. I’m not sure if that’s even possible….I know they have to have the software to do that connect to the truck.

I bet all the car haulers that have had their rigs stolen in a Florida wish that were true. FHP had shown video of one thief inside one he had what looked like a giant walkie talkie. Turns out it was a gps blocker!
