As others have said draining the system first is key. I also have a very nice set of tools to remove the airline from this type of fitting. They work great and save a lot of time and effort. Direct Source (DSIQRP4S). It wouldnt be worth it on a one time job, but if you have to work on this stuff regularly they are great.
