Removing greasless 5th wheel plate

    I tired one. Didn't like it. No good at all. There is a retainer clip that holds it up on the trailer king pin. After a short time that hole gets wallowed out. When you unhook trailer the disk falls off. Then to hook up again someone has to hold it up as you back under trailer. I rarely unhook and it still sucked

    In the late 90’s, a company I drove for used them. In 2yrs, I only ever had one trailer where the retainer ring failed and allowed it to drop off. It’s easy enough to reinstall, with a new ring. As far as stiction goes, it was a smooth setup; never any binding.

    I have ran greaseless plates for a few years and never have had to grease them but as mentioned it wouldn’t matter if grease got in it
    I recently did a replacement on the inserts and they were like $400 from finditparts and a pretty easy job
