Removing lettering

heres my method....

heat gun, sharp razor blade and a big jug of laquar thinner (for the residue)

be carefull with the blade....it is easy to get paint along with the sticker

hey it worked to get all the landstar crap off this truck....and i even tried to keeps ole bricky's stickers in one piece...but me, a 12 pack and a razor dont mix to well (thankfully my truck is red)

 

You can get plastic "razors" at you local auto paint supplier. They are sharp enough to get under the edge but not hard enough to dig into the paint. Careful with the thinner as it can be very bad on older paint, the newer urethanes are a little more forgiving. I personally use denatured alchohol since it is less caustic. You just have to wipe and rub a little more but its safer.

 

ROFLMAO! I could have told you that was gonna happen.... Tried the same dumb move.. Thats when I found the plastic blades. hahahahahaha

 

Scraperite Plastic Razor Blades


West Marine carries them and they are close to me. I think I googled them and thats what came up close to me.

and I got AutoTech Quick and easy adhesive remover http://www.autotechmfg.com/products.html#Quick_n_Easy_Adhesive_Remover

from the auto paint store to get the goo off. On the 4 IFTA stickers I let it sit for a while and soaked it. The goo came off really well. There was very little discolloration so I didnt need to compound it. I thought the auto paint guys would have something safe for the paint.
