LMAO.... I actually met a waitress at the Pink Pony Grill in Gulf Shores that thought it was a good idea and she has one lady on the back of each of her calves. I couldn't believe it..... -
After removing the old, how about adding your new stuff ... DOT # etc. ???

Heat gun and some GooGone!!
-
I use a heat gun and if there's any residue left over, I use Goof Off. Then wipe with alcohol to make sure the Goof Off doesn't attack the paint..
-
I used a heat gun with plastic blades to get stripes and old name off of a couple trucks then used some real good auto wax, waxed entire truck, couldnt see where the old letters and stripes were after that.

rubber wheels work on stickon letters. to remove painted on lettering a very mild rubbing compound allways worked for me with a little elbow grease.
-
I would use a heat gun and acetone on a rag to finish it off and not hurt the paint. It's the only solvent that doesn't leave a residue and loves dissolving glue. Any traces of acetone will evaporate before it hurts the paint. You can buy it at NAPA.
Someone mentioned fingernail polish remover... contents, acetone. -
"Fantastic" works great for removing the adhesive.

Heat gun and a "little chiseler" vinyl remover tool.....heat up the vinyl and push the little chiseler behind it. once the vinyl is off soak a paper towel in mineral spirits and wipe it on the adhesive residue and let it sit for a few minutes and soften up...run the little chiseler tool again.
