would like to hear some opinions , cons, pros
i have 2009 kwt660 and 2017 doonan tri axle step deck
i have plans on installing conestoga on trailer in april , i currently scaling at 32460 with full tanks (i removed 9 pieces 8 footers timber and tarps) . one of the axles liftable , i was thinking to remove one fixed axle to save some weight (i will still have ability to put 40k on trailer axles because it will be spread) , i will remove headache rack since i will have it built inside conestoga for chains and binders , also i will be adding ramps (additional weight) . i am thinking conestoga will add 2-3k
most of the time im moving loads from the load board and i rarely grossing close to 80k...id say less than 20% of my loads heavy

Ever notice how 20000lb loads pay better than 48000 Lb loads? 48000lb loads are usually lumber and steel and building materials. Hauling building materials is the open deck equivalent of grocery hauling. Plenty of it, and plenty guys lining up to haul it for extremely cheap rates.

If I had your setup, I would either pull 30k or less or 55k or more. No, you wouldn’t pull as many loads, but you would probably make the same amount of money with a fraction of the miles.
