Did you buy that alternator at the petro? That price sounds high.
-
$450 for a brand new Delco 36-SI 170A alternator. Delivered price.
(No one had anything in stock in Milwaukee, thanks to the DD quad mount setup AKA "4 ear" - I needed)
Thats actually a really good price. KW wanted $659 for it.
I had to get a new unit. Mine was cracked and had no usable core.
I got it from a buddy at TruckPro in IL. -
And don't forget the dome light fluid in case you get a leak.

Maybe I should look at Nitrogen for my tires. If they are more buoyant they might have less rolling resistance would could equate to better MPG
-
for buoyancie maybe get helium--
nitrogen prevents water in the tire--and possibley a cooler running tire -

those pad mount alternators are stupid expensive. Now way around it.
I buy my starters and alternators from motorcityreman google it
oh wait, that's not a pad mount. You have the part number for that? I'm curious to see what motor city gets for it -
I was wondering if you could switch it.
-
these are the expensive ones with thepad mounts. I have one of these unfortunatly
the one on on that motor looks like the one I put on my old pete that I bought for under $200 new
