I don't ever complain. And it was more like every driver I ran into, whether at truckstops, or at Dorchester or Marshfield.
Roehl is hiring reefer drivers like they're going out of style, yet they have no more freight than they did before. Why do you think that is?

Oh, by the way, it will happen one day that you will see your miles drop and you will wait on loads. When it happens, I told you so.

what doesn't work for me works for someone else maybe

Sure it will. If you put your stuff in storage, have no wife or kids and don't mind being out on the road for a month or more, and will run when they need you to run not when your log book says you can run. These OTR companies will give you all the miles you want.

Make them work to get you home or find someone else to cover a load, and you go on the B squad faster then you can say Rumpelstiltskin.

That post wasn't actually directed at you, RedWolf, it was more directed at the guy who comes in here complaining about Roehl, using every thread he can to tell everyone how awful they are. Our referigerated division sucks, I'll gladly say that much.

    Good points about Roehl.............:biggrin_25518:
Yeah roehl sucks, I would not recommend them to a friend. There is a poster on another site who describle them as being as low as swift and JB hunt, and I think he is right. Cmoore, what was your average take home in the weeks prior to the jackpot? You have to use averages you know. Homeboy has been right all along.

My average take-home for the past 10 weeks is $593. It would be well over 600 if I hadn't been taking so much home-time and hadn't recovered that truck for them. These hometime fleets really screw up the miles for the national guys as we have to deal with all their relay loads to get them home. If the trip to Florida and back counts as the "jackpot", that's pretty sad. It was nothing more than an average week, but quite simple.

Well, I wish you well. I hope your taste of Roehl gets better. Hopefully you will be happy as a trainer. I will tell you as a heads up, wait till a trainee complains about you, whether it's true or not, you will be on the losing end. Also I didn't mean to suggest you didn't know when to wash out a trailer, just pointing out that many times we go to hook up to an MT to find it filthy.

LMAO:), No offense taken Mo man. Don't know what came over me. Pitch a few of those hundreds at me when you figure it out and the first round will be on me. Now, on to topic.
There is no quick fix. There may not be a fix. With the price of fuel, insurance, etc. and the competition for freight cutting into rates and hapless, new and ill informed drivers beginning a new "career" not knowing what they are getting into.... companies are fortunate to still be operating. I just remember all of the frustration I experienced while trying to make a living for my family while over at Roehl and it didn't happen, then some know it all cowboy of fortune gets on here and tries to negate my experience with his 2 or 3 months time with that company. Then, label me as a complainer as the reason I never got any more runs than I had. I swallowed a lot of pride and words while trying to fit in, and when it was time to go, I went. No shouting matches with DSR's and the like. Just don't tell me I was at fault when all I did was the job I was trained to do the way I was trained to do it. So there.
P.S. .. This was NOT directed at the MO man, perhaps the recipient will recognize to whom it is intended.

Homeboy you knew when to cut your loses and I think that's a wise move for anyone who isn't getting anywhere with a company. My experiences are like that with JB Hunt. Right now we are doing ok here. If things change we will move on as well. I just would like to know what exactly in the refeers does it suck? I rather deal with refeers than the van division. I have been in both.
