I'll use quick couplers sometimes but I prefer compression fittings if I can use them instead. I've never had a compression fitting leak or fail. Certainly can't say the same for quick connects.

Well finally after 5 months of buying a new tank, I installed it yesterday.
Of course it was a headache. Couldn't get two of the valves off, the couplers ended up stripping, even with putting tons of heat on them. Ended up taking the old tank to a local shop for help. They have a big Vice table and huge pair of pliers that fit around those valves.... They came right off that way...
Live and Learn!!!
Got my self a big pair of pliers coming in the mail now.

I had one burst a hole and break the tank strap on my FLD a few months ago. New ones were backordered months out. I paid almost $200 shipped but got a used one in about a week from Vander Haag's. New ones are about $130 if you can find them, or were. Freightliner charges $300 for new ones on backorder.. Luckily the one Vander Haag's sent was not rusted anywhere amazingly and they even threw in the used straps which were good too.
