With only one eye working and I have a cateract in it I'm dizzy tring to get what he said .
.......
Lets see ... someone feels that if he takes 1000 words to explain how radio works maybe One picture would be easier...
2 meters is line of sight and from Tampa to Long island is line of sight if you can put up a tall enough antenna or so this card says ....
Radio waves bend either by temp inversion or e-skip
BTW ....
Good morning Mike I'm still blind in my left eye but that will noe stop me from being the same old PITAAttached Files:

antennas must have a good ground
-
Yes they need good ground with out it you can't get a low take off angle ...

So you attack truck drivers, implying their job is crap and they were brought up poorly otherwise they would have a better job than driving a truck. Then why are you here seeing as how you despise both the people and their occupation. Has it never occurred to you that by virtue of the multitude of the words you post combined with the lack of staying on topic nobody is interested in what you say? Your endless page and a half posts of whatever you want to say unrelated to the thread are like the white stripes on the road. All they do is put you to sleep.
By the way truck driving is a great job which requires great skill. Based upon your endless writings on this site clearly whatever it is you do does not. Nobody could be as sloppy and unfocused as you and still keep it between the ditches. Next time you go shopping why don't you look around at the incredibly large number of things you can choose to buy. All provided by truck drivers.
I should add: "why do they keep asking the same questions over and over again"
I know this is hard for you to understand, but you might consider there are millions of people out here and not all of them know the same thing. Logic would indicate that it was different people asking the same questions. Until each person watches a movie they do not all know the story do they. -
My dad had a CDL untill his death and was not a stupid man ..... he was a Brooklyn Tech grad with a 4 year deploma who spent 44 years mataining gas lines for a ulity ....
Sometimes you just got to look at the entire pictue .... A driver is not always trained as a radio tech no more than I am able to drive a 40,000 lb truck and I doubt you would want me too ..... -
I guess we're done here................
BUZZSAW Thanks this. -

Good gosh! Been running team and have had little time to check the forums.
Looks like I opened a can of worms here. I don't have time right now to thoroughly read through everything and respond to questions, but I will soon. Until then, please do NOT turn this thread into a bash session
For what it's worth, I'm just about ready to find a CB shop somewhere and ask them to physically come out to my truck and fix it. Taking the radio inside is only going to yield the same "your radio works like it's brand new." I'm thinking the issue is with the wiring, antenna(s), and/or their mounts. Currently using stock antenna(s) on KW T2000. Not sure if it's a dual setup because I don't know if one is the antenna for FM or TV. No access to the coax either as it's all wired inside my dashboard. SWR meter in use is on radio, but I highly doubt two radios giving the same symptoms across multiple trucks, wiring, and antennas would be untrustworthy.
Time to go. More later and thanks for all the responses. -
