Replacing a manual for a automatic

    I think that if you were able to push the clutch but you wanted to take it easy on your knee I would try to fabricate some type of a lever that you can pull the lever with your arm and still guide the pedal with your foot.

    It would have to be made in such a way that it doesn't interfere with you pushing your foot on the clutch in an emergency, but if it could assist you at lights or at shippers and receivers or any other time I don't see anything wrong with that.

    Other than that if you float your gears your need to push the clutch with your foot would be minimal.

    I"m wondering if he has one of them stiff HEAVY clutches.

    IIRC. 2200 lbs vs. 1800 lbs.

    or whatever for his particular truck.

    Those were the 2 options when my clutch got replaced. I drove a truck once with a stiff pedal. No way I was doing that again.
