I'm just wondering what software I need to make the necessary changes to the ECM so that its not expecting to see the Autoshift anymore?
I have InSite 7.6...will that get me to where I need to go to switch from Auto to Manual..And whatever other changes I need to make? Or do I need Calterm for that?
Thanks

What year? May need Paccar ESA.
pushbroom Thanks this. -
I was told when I was having auto shift problems that I would need
New ECM
New clutch peddle linkage
Clutch assembly
New Bell housing
Drive line work
New shifter and trans top
New floor plate
Cost more to change than fix. -
We talked with the head service guy at KW here and because I have the 3 pedal autoshift...I already have the clutch.
We're changing the transmission because it had a couple broken teeth on main shaft. Also changing the clutch even tho it looked ok but it's a couple years old.
Basically he said rewiring the VSS to the ECM and a few software changes and should be good to go.
I forgot to ask if InSite would be all I needed to make the changes...or if I needed to get deeper into the ecm with something else. -

So after we got everything done...and are getting "trans J1939 failure" fault. So I called KW dealer and they said they need to make adjustments because the ECM is talking to the cab controller and looking for the auto trans TCU that isn't there anymore. They said they something about ESA and now I'm worried they're gonna flash my ECM and I'll lose all my delete info and tune.

Cummins is swapped to manual trans?
Did you chase the auto trans harness back to where it hooks into the backbone and remove it?
Should have no reason to flash the ecm to fix it.Goodysnap and spsauerland Thank this. -
Yeah we took out the Autoshift and have the reman 18sp manual in. The VSS and temp sensor aren't hooked up yet tho. The harness that ran to the TCU from the ECM is still in the truck bundled and tied up. My mechanic doing the work and was going to run the VSS to the ECM pin 17+18 but then KW told him that the two VSS wires go into the cab controller and then to the ECM.

Trans harness should get fully removed.
I know the petes run the speed signal right to the ecm still.
