Replacing DD15 Rear Engine Mounts, What to Remove?

. I changed mine on a 12.7, first time didn’t drop driveshaft. Changed them one at a time. Should have dropped oil pan, and jacked it up, safely, like mechanics had suggested. Almost lost the tip off one finger. It wasn’t pretty, smashed it real good. You Could hoist it from the top, with proper equipment. However you do it, be careful, it’s a tight spot for your fingers to be. One bolt on each side of mine was a pita, has a short head, hard to get a wrench on. Found out the hard way, it’s short for a reason, Lol. Yours may be different. Last time I did them, with pan off and trans out. It should have been a breeze, but I had a heck of a time. You’ll have to decide, what will work best, as far as taking off brackets on the engine, or frame. whatever works best. I took them off frame only, the first time. Second time, I had to take both off, and muscle the engine with ratchet straps, to get everything aligned. New long bolts , that go through the mounts, make assembly easier, chances are the body of the bolts rusted up good, anyway. Maybe cut old bolts out. Good Luck, watch those fingers, Lol.
