I am editor of a U.S. alternative news site (This forum does not permit me to post a link to the website)

We do not hear anything anymore about how you are faring since the gasoline and diesel prices have dropped considerably. The economy is still in a precarious state, however, and appears to be headed for something akin to a depression rather than a recession.

I am seeking information from all around the country about the state of the trucking industry. DEADLINE is FRIDAY, JANUARY 15.

    Include in your story:

Permission from you to use your story or any part of your story.

Indicate whether you are an independent trucker or work for a company and if you feel comfortable doing so the name of the company you work for.

Indicate what city and state you reside.

Indicate how the high gasoline / diesel prices affected you or your company.

Indicate whether problems are still ongoing insofar as gasoline / diesel prices.

Indicate what you or your company is doing to stay in business.

Indicate how the state of the trucking industry has personally affected you and your family.

Indicate your thoughts on what you believe the outcome of the economic crisis will be and what you and your family are doing to prepare.

Many thanks for your input. You are the backbone of the economy and greatly appreciated.

    Kimberly

The only difference between a recession and a depression is unemployment insurance, food stamps, and welfare checks to never wed mothers.
