a good repo man will eventually find the truck theres no question about it repo guys are alot of the time or hire licensed private investigators. they have no problems sitting outside ur house or following u around for weeks till they get they're asset remember they charge for just that kinda thing and big trucks are big money in the repo world
if u know something is up for repo ur best bet and cheapest in the long run is just to give it up voluntarily. im sorry but no matter what u say or what u do aside from paying them the asset will get recovered.
this guy could of saved himself a lot of headache and a lot of money if he would have just dropped the trailer called the finance comanpany and said the truck is here come get it the keys are inside.
remember all those fee's for recovery are getting thrown on top of what was owed. the longer u go and hide the asset the more ur gonna piss off the finance company and the less they will be willing to help u in the end.
another thing to remember is you dont own anything unless ur name is on that title it's basically lease to own until u finish paying them and if u quit paying and dont give back the vehicle guess what...thats stealing in a round about way

Idk about that I know some spots in w.va good luck repoing down there first they'd have to find it then they'd have to figure out how to get it good luck!
-
Now a days they don't need to ask you where the truck is, as we discover they do have a GPS device hidden somewhere in the truck, for my friends case, it was behind the dome light, but the thing that made me mad is taking trailer with it and demanding fees for it.
-
Do an O.J. just go take it back
RedForeman Thanks this. -
With my Pete that was repoed I did work with the finance people till the screwed me. I took the truck to where they told me, they said they will let Arrow Truck sell it, that way I would not lose.
month later I get a call saying Ok truck sold, you owe me 16K truck sold for 7K at auction -
The fees are gonna happen the same goes for getting back any personal belongings they take up space which cost money and they are in business to make money
If it were me picking up the unit I would of dropped the trailer depending on neiborhood but to each is own and it sounds like he was with his legal right to take trailer
As for the guy with Pete I understand ur frustration ya the finance company could have had all this planned from the get go but there are a lot unknown variables here like what kinda shape was the truck when dropped off how much was owed what was the market for at the time
All these play a major roll in selling a used truck
They are not gonna let it sit on lot forever just so u don't get hosed they want they're money back ASAP -
My freind never said Repo man (Hired by Transport Funding and Arrow Truck sales)didn't have no legal right to repossese the truck. It was his first vacation for some 20yrs he always paid his bills ontime but this time he fall behind couple payments and it cost him big time and he doesn't blame them repoing his truck ok.
What is not right and not legal and not morally sound right is taking the trailer with it that don't have nothing to do with the bank or the loan and then asking for it to be paid, so is the personal property in the truck.
Sad part is my poor freind paid them off and is telling me he doesn't have the time or manpower to fight with it. -
I'm not knocking ur friend in the least bit it's a tough economy for all of us especially the trucking industry and I agree it is not morally right but in most states the repossessor has the option to repo the truck along with anything in it or attached to it to make a speedy getaway. I'm not saying ur state is that way if it is then he should fight it if he can't then it is what it is.
As for Morally right, business is business you definatly don't get in to the repo biz to make friends -
if they wanted there money back. they would resell it. for what they can. instead of auctioning off. cuz that only gets the bank 1/3 of what's owed. 7 years later the collection is wiped off one's credit report and the bank got nothing more.
depending on what it is. but i think banks are DUMB for always going the auction route.Last edited: Jul 24, 2013
