This is an industry that treats people like crap almost as a rule. Have everything the strict places require in the truck, then do WTF you want until you have to comply. Im wearing just shorts today. And thats how i tarped too. If james hardy dont like it he can haul this crap himself. For $1.30 a mile shorts is all im offering. You want more from me, then i want more from you. or we can rip this ratecon up and part ways.

My wearing a uniform and getting chewed out days ended when i got out of the service.

They worked for me running flatbed.

Except once. I was up north picking up from a Canadian run outfit. They wanted lace up steel toe boots that went above the ankle. No slip on boots either.

99.5% of the time steel toed sneaker type will be fine. Maybe not if you run into Canada....

Hard hat (with a chin strap) hi-vis vest, steel toe shoes, ear plugs...

    That's about it.

You probably won't need a hard hat unless you are delivering to job sites or pulling open deck. It's just nice to have your own to use instead of being loaned one, that has been used and sweated in by whoever.

Chaining up in the truck stop because he stopped on ice and couldn't move.
He managed to have the exit lane for the fuel island completely blocked too.

I cannot stand POS tractors that spin out in 3 inches of snow screwing up a freeway ramp on evening news for all to see.

    Engineering. HA. The hubris...

That’s usually due to the idiot in the Toyota Prius that has even less business being out in the snow and deciding for whatever stupid reason to stop going uphill.

I found a set hankooks, 245/70-16's that have openshoulder and all terrain tread rated for winter. I am very seriously considering putting them on my old Tahoe. (3/4 ton 4x4) and already have the chains for all 4, these are ice chains rather than normal chain chain.)

The problem is I am attracted to the Michelin version. Also my shop wants me to buy ten ply. I am afraid the ten ply will be WAY too heavy on that truck. (Light is 5500 pounds gross weight is 8400 without trailer on class III)

This idiot (Myself) stays home in ice storms. But am ready to do battle here in Arkansas if I had to transport my Ex to the VA in a timely manner.
